Normally closed on Mondays\, we saw this day as an opportunity to reinforce our commitment to sharing the history and culture of South Florida’s Native peoples.\n\nIn light of the greater Everglades community’s long history of learning from\, working together with and welcoming this region’s native residents\, it seems only fitting to celebrate those partnerships on this day.\n\nJoin us as we respectfully recognize the continuing contributions of the Miccosukee and Seminole people to the preservation of the Everglades\, acknowledge their historical presence in our region and express gratitude for the knowledge and wisdom they have shared with us. Enjoy and engage with our new exhibit and explore the possibilities for a better future offered by integrating traditional indigenous knowledge.
