Stargazing with the Everglades Astronomical Society at Collier-Seminole State Park

Stargazing Collier-Seminole Park

Experience the magic of the night sky at Collier-Seminole State Park for just $5 per vehicle (up to eight people), including the park entry fee. Bring your chairs and enjoy a presentation by Robyn Pritchard, Mike Usher, and the Everglades Astronomical Society. Following the talk, telescopes will be available for constellation viewing. Weather-dependent, so call 239-394-3397
on the event day for updates. Remember to bring red-covered flashlights, and please leave dogs at home. Don’t miss this stellar evening under the stars!

How long does it take to get out to the ocean from Port of the Islands

It usually takes around 45 minutes to cruise from the Port of the Islands to the ocean. The journey includes navigating through a long, no-wake zone canal, providing a delightful and unhurried ride. Bring a cover for sun protection during this slow and scenic route. About half an hour in, you’ll arrive at the expansive and naturally beautiful mangroves before reaching the open waters of the ocean.
