There are many options for those who wish to hike in the Everglades City area.

Everglades City: Come njoy historic Everglades City with its low-traffic roads and beautiful sunsets along the Barron River. Tour the Museum of the Everglades, visit the original Collier County Courthouse, and stop for lunch at one of our many great restaurants. Walk out to the islands of Plantation and Chokoloskee; be sure to stop by the old trading post, now the Smallwood Store & Museum.

Near By Parks: For the more adventuresome hikers, you have unlimited opportunities to get out into the wild at many of our various parks and preserves.

Whether you go on your own or join a tour, you’re sure to experience the wonders of the “real” Florida. Be prepared and dress appropriately for extreme heat and insects. Keep an eye on the forecast as thunderstorms are common in the summer months.
