HIKING

Hiking Trails Galore!

There are many options for those who wish to hike in the Everglades City area. For on-road cycling or walking visitors can enjoy historic Everglades City with its low-traffic roads and beautiful sunsets along the Barron River. You can tour the Museum of the Everglades, visit the original Collier County Courthouse, and enjoy lunch at the Rod & Gun Club or one of our many great seafood restaurants. Walk out to the islands of Plantation and Chokoloskee; be sure to stop by the old trading post, now the Smallwood Store & Museum.

For the more adventuresome hikers, you have unlimited opportunities to get out into the wild at many of our various parks and preserves. Whether you go on your own or join a tour, you’re sure to experience the wonders of the “real” Florida.
