Big Cypress National Preserve

Big Cypress National Preserve, the first national preserve in the Big Cypress National Park System, protects over 700,000 acres of the Big Cypress Swamp in south Florida. As a home to both temperate and tropical species, Big Cypress National Preserve is a hotbed of biological diversity. It contains a mixture of tropical and temperate plant communities that are home to a diversity of wildlife, including the elusive Florida panther. Visitors will find a recreational paradise with camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and bird watching opportunities.
