Most people come here to fish.
Snook at sunrise.
Redfish along the mangroves.
Seatrout in the open bays.
But here’s something many visitors don’t realize:
Those same fish — caught right here in the Ten Thousand Islands — may count toward an official statewide angler recognition program.
It’s called the Triple Threat Club, part of Florida Fish & Wildlife’s Catch a Florida Memory program. And yes — you can work toward it from Everglades City or Chokoloskee or anywhere in the Ten Thousand Islands.
Launch into Chokoloskee Bay, head up the Turner River, drift the Barron, run the Lopez, or fish the edges of Rabbit Key Pass — you’re in qualifying waters.
This isn’t a tournament.
It isn’t a gimmick.
It’s simply a way for anglers to document their catches and earn recognition across Florida’s saltwater fisheries.
If you’re already planning a fishing trip here, it may be worth taking five minutes to look at the program before you head out.
Your Everglades City catch might count for more than you think.
You can read the official details on the Catch a Florida Memory website.
