Everglades City
If you’ve been following the restoration of the historic Everglades City Train Depot, there’s more progress to share! This beloved landmark, which has stood the test of time since 1928, is getting a fresh makeover thanks to the dedication of local businesses, volunteers, and one determined man—Bill Odrey. If you missed the original story about the depot’s history and restoration, catch up at VisitEvergladesCity.com/Saving-a-Landmark.
New supporters have stepped up to help push the restoration forward. Sherwin Williams has committed to providing 50 gallons of exterior paint, ensuring the depot will shine like it did in its heyday. Simpson Strong-Tie and Tropical Construction Supply are donating stainless steel fasteners for the decking, reinforcing the structure for generations to come.

“We’ve been part of this area for 32 years, and we love helping the community,” said a representative from TCS of Naples. “We’re glad to be part of preserving such an important piece of Everglades City history.”
It’s not just the building getting a facelift—the trolleys are getting some love, too! Precision Collision of Naples and Maaco Auto Body Shop & Painting in Ft Myers are handling a sleek new paint job, while The Garage Auto and Tire is hard at work ensuring they run smoothly.
This restoration depends on community support! Whether you can lend a hand, donate materials, or help fund the installation of contributed supplies, every effort makes a difference.
