Free Park Day

April 20

Everglades National Park will increase entrance fees starting January 1, 2024. Vehicle and vessel fees will increase to $35 for a seven-day pass, while other modes of entry will go up by $5. The annual pass will cost $70.

See below for Fee Free Days in the park. The fee waiver for the fee free days applies only to entrance fees and does not cover amenity or user fees for camping, boat launches, transportation, special tours, or other activities.

June 19: Juneteenth
August 4: Great American Outdoors Day
September 28: National Public Lands Day
November 11: Veterans Day

How long does it take to get out to the ocean from Port of the Islands

It usually takes around 45 minutes to cruise from the Port of the Islands to the ocean. The journey includes navigating through a long, no-wake zone canal, providing a delightful and unhurried ride. Bring a cover for sun protection during this slow and scenic route. About half an hour in, you’ll arrive at the expansive and naturally beautiful mangroves before reaching the open waters of the ocean.
