33000 Tamiami Trl E | Ochopee | Florida
Oasis Visitor Center is a roadside stop along the Tamiami Trail with a history as distinctive as its setting. Built in the 1960s, the structure has served several purposes over the years before being acquired by the National Park Service and repurposed as a visitor center within Big Cypress National Preserve.
Today, the Oasis Visitor Center offers indoor exhibit space, visitor information, and an easy-to-access boardwalk that follows a nearby canal. This short walk is a popular spot for observing wildlife, especially alligators and wading birds, often visible from the boardwalk without venturing far from the parking area.
The center provides general orientation to the Preserve and its surrounding landscapes. Visitor amenities include public restrooms, a Florida National Parks Association gift shop and bookstore, Passport To Your National Parks® stamps, and Junior Ranger materials.
