Our fifth through ninth grade students participated in a Marine lab science field trip that was an amazing hands on experience. The core curriculum focused on seagrass, mangrove, and coral reef ecology and incorporated two hands-on labs. The snorkel trip started with a discussion on the boat about the habitat and what animal life the students would be on the lookout for during their snorkel. The students snorkeled each habitat to observe firsthand what they learned during the discussion. When safe and permitted, instructors collected live specimens from the water for the students to observe back on the boat. Teachers had just as much fun as the students and this hands on experience was a huge success.
Seniors Gina Collins, Cheyann Nicholson and Emerson Brown were invited to attend the Naples Forum club by Guidance counselor Beth Colman. They did a phenomenal job not only speaking but in representing themselves as the outstanding individuals that they are.
