The U.S. Postal Service is conducting a discontinuance feasibility study of facility operations at the Chokoloskee Post Office into the Everglades City Post Office. Chokoloskee Post Office was placed under emergency suspension on 2/13/21 due to the loss of the lease and moved into the alternate quarters. Since the suspension, alternate delivery service has been provided via PO Box service at the Everglades City Post Office. The office is being studied due to the Emergency Suspension. There are a number of alternate sites within a short radius of this office to provide the sales of stamps and the mailing of most package items.
A community meeting will be held to explain the process and to address community concerns. Postal representatives will be at the Chokoloskee Family Church of God, 1236 Demere Ln, Chokoloskee, FL 34138 on 5/8/24 from 1 pm – 2 pm to answer questions and provide information about our service. You may wish to discuss and submit your questionnaire at that time.
