Visit Everglades City and the Ten Thousand Islands of Southwest Florida, the Everglades

Your Everglades City Community, Now on Your Phone

Your Everglades City community just got a whole lot easier to keep up with.

We’re talking news, events, local businesses, and classifieds — all in one app on your phone. It’s called Everglades News, and it’s available right now for Android.

Here’s what you get when you download it.

News That Matters to You

Open the app and you’ll see the latest stories from around Everglades City, Chokoloskee, and the Ten Thousand Islands. Real news. Local news. The kind of stuff that actually affects your day.

Search for specific topics. Filter by category. Pull down to refresh when you want the latest updates. Everything you see comes straight from visitevergladescity.com, so it’s always current.

Community Events in Your Pocket

There’s a calendar built right into the app. Tap any date and you’ll see what’s happening that day — festivals, fundraisers, ranger programs, whatever’s going on.

Found something you want to go to? Tap once to add it to your phone’s calendar. Tap again to get directions. Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze — whatever you use.

No more forgetting about that thing you meant to check out.

Find What You Need

Looking for a place to eat? Need an airboat tour? Want to know which shops are open today?

The Places section has you covered. There’s an interactive map showing every business and attraction in the area. Filter by category. Search by name. Tap for phone numbers, websites, hours, directions.

Works offline too, once you’ve loaded it. So if you’re out on the water and need to find something, you’ve got it.

Buy, Sell, Trade Local

The classifieds section is basically the community bulletin board, but way more useful. Boats, vehicles, marine equipment, garage sales, estate sales — if someone’s selling it around here, you’ll find it.

Each listing shows photos you can zoom in on, seller contact info you can tap to call or text, and all the details you need. Categories update automatically from the website, so you’re always seeing what’s actually available.

Post Your Own Stuff

Here’s the thing that makes this app different: you can contribute.

See that plus button? Tap it from anywhere in the app and you can submit news tips, post events, recommend businesses, list items for sale, or send feedback. No account needed. No login. Just fill out the form and submit.

If you’re offline when you hit submit, the app saves it and sends it when you’ve got signal again.

Everything gets reviewed before it goes live, but that’s it. That’s how easy it is to help keep the community connected.
