Mandatory Mask Order in Everglades Area

To contain the spread of Covid-19, and to keep our residents and visitors healthy so they can enjoy the beautiful Everglades area, there is a mandatory mask order in place in Everglades City and unincorporated Collier County which includes Chokoloskee, Plantation, Jerome, Copeland, and Ochopee.

Masks are required for all indoor venues and when one cannot be at a safe, socially distanced position (at least 6 feet) outdoors. Please show respect for our community by cooperating with this mandate by wearing the coolest mask you can find! Better yet, enjoy the Everglades where being outdoors, and socially distanced is a way of life.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are all in this together. As we practice social distancing and find new ways to entertain ourselves while at home, know that the beautiful Everglades and expanse of the 10,000 Islands will be here when it is safe to travel again.

The parks may be closed, but they are still just as vibrant. Attractions may be paused, but they will be ready for you when we receive the “all clear”. We are all in this together. Stay safe, wash those hands, and we will see you in the near future!

Everglades Area Visitor Center’s Grand Opening Was…Grand!

On Saturday, February 1st, the new Everglades Area Visitor Center opened…and it was a wonderful affair! Even the overcast skies and drizzle of rain couldn’t keep people away.

Congressman Mario Diaz Balart, Parks Superintendent Pedro Ramos, and Mayor Howie Grimm were just a few of the people who came out to see the long-awaited center open.

Stop in any time to see us! We have maps, area information and much more to share with our visitors! We are located at 207 W. Broadway in Everglades City. We are open from 9 am to 4 pm daily.
