Eileen Connolly-Keesler Honored with Sunspra Margie Davidson Leading Light Award

Collier County Public Schools is proud to announce that Eileen Connolly-Keesler, President/CEO of the Collier Community Foundation, has been awarded the prestigious SUNSPRA Margie Davidson Leading Light Award. This statewide recognition, presented by ParentSquare, honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and support for K-12 public education in Florida.

The announcement was made during a special awards luncheon at the 79th annual Florida Association of District School Superintendents (FADSS) and Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) Joint Conference in Tampa. The award was presented by SUNSPRA President Katherine Crnkovich and Valerie Wilson from ParentSquare, recognizing Connolly-Keesler for her ongoing dedication to strengthening communities and improving educational opportunities for students.

As the President/CEO of the Collier Community Foundation, Connolly-Keesler has overseen the Foundation’s mission of addressing community needs through innovative leadership, strategic grantmaking, and impactful fund development. Her work has been instrumental in connecting resources to local schools, enhancing educational programs, and fostering partnerships that benefit students, teachers, and families across Collier County.

“We are thrilled to see Eileen recognized for her tireless efforts in supporting education and strengthening our community,” said Dr. Leslie C. Ricciardelli, Superintendent of Collier County Public Schools. “Her leadership and vision have made a profound impact on the lives of many students and educators. The Margie Davidson Leading Light Award, established in 2003 by the Sunshine State School Public Relations Association (SUNSPRA), honors individuals who have gone above and beyond to support K-12 public education, advocating for the well-being of students and educators. The award is named after Margie Davidson, a champion for public education who dedicated her life to advancing the field.
