Everglades City
by Jesse Wilson, Chokoloskee Family Church Pastor
Rumble In The Glades second annual car and bike show saw even larger crowds this year, making it a successful community event.
Hosted by Chokoloskee Family Church, and a number of local sponsors, the event featured classic cars, bikers from around South Florida, lots of food, and various vendors selling everything from custom-made jackets to sailboats. The kids enjoyed free face painting, and with music from the 50’s and 60’s playing in the background, everyone said they loved this years event more than last years. There was a Best in Show contest for both classic cars and bikes, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Rumble In the Glades also featured Ms. Hazels Annual Chili Cookoff! The competition was fierce as nearly a dozen participants competed for the coveted 1st place trophy and $100. Alas, there could only be one winner.
Coming in third place was David and Aaron from HavAnnA Cafe. Second place was won by Greg Wood, and coming in first, with a delicious chili, was our very own Principal from Everglades City School, Dr. Allison!
People are already talking about next years event which should be even bigger!
