On October 1st the second meeting of the City of Everglades City Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation plan was held at City Hall with a variety of community members in attendance by Zoom. Engineering firm CPH presented GIS/plan exhibits, reviewed budget and future plan actions. Next public meeting will be held the first week of December.
Council had recommended presenting an offer to Veolia Water to settle an existing lawsuit. We received a counter offer and instructed the City Attorney to send our response with our counter offer.
The annual Red Ribbon Week proclamation was approved by Council.
Council discussed funding for the preliminary design of a new community center to be constructed above the McLeod park pavilion. A future workshop will be held to receive input from the community on what components to include in the new facility.
